FX Airguns Impact M4

Release Date July 17th, 2024

Changes/Updates

1. New Color

Two color variations will be available, the same Tactical Black we are used to, and an all-new “Copper” metallic color that is very vibrant. (Note* Stock product listing photos may show this color differently than as seen in person. See our lifestyle photos and videos for a better representation of this metallic copper color.)

2. All New, Completely Redesigned Trigger System

This new trigger was intended to be a match trigger with multiple adjustment points. Per the distributor, average trigger pull was ~4.6 ounces. Adjustments include length of pull, tension, as well as the angle. The 2-stages of the trigger can be adjusted independently of each other, set your first stage tension to be light, while your second to be heavier, or however you prefer.

3. Top Rail

The new optic picatinny top rail rides on a dovetail rail along the spine of the M4, allowing you to slide the position of the rail all the way back to the cheek piece. Therefore there is a precise and repeatable alignment of the optic to bore. The rail is now cantilevered. Easily flip the rail in reverse to allow your optic to be placed even further towards the back, great for optics that have little to no eye relief. The optic top rail is now independent of the side picatinny rail accessory mounts, no longer worry about unmounting accessories if you need to move the top rail.

4. Bolt

The cocking lever now has built in magnetic retention, meaning when the gun is cocked the lever won’t fall forward on its own! This should help cut down accidentally double feeds.

5. Plenum

The plenum is now slightly larger at 75cc (versus the prior 72cc) meaning an extra 3cc of air. Will this have notable power impacts? Short answer, no.

6. NO 1st Stage Reg

That’s right. One common leak point has been deleted. On paper the 2 stage system improves consistency and longevity of the 2ng stage regulator, but for 99% of us hunting and using these PCP air rifles day in and day out, we prefer the single stage method. For competition aficionados, you can still purchase an aftermarket 2nd stage if you please.

7. Magazine

The magazine retains the same shape and size, the lid has been slightly grooved to accept longer projectiles. How long? TBD! M3 and M4 mags will be compatible with each other and in either gun. The magazine has been built with better materials to improve its durability and consistency, along with a smoother operating inner drum.

8. Grip

New grip features a slightly wider, over molded design with finger grooves and a beavertail. Nice stock grip out of the box!

9. Barrel Block

Improved front barrel support. The barrel clamp’s 2 screws on the barrel have been eliminated with the new block design. This also means M3 tensioning kits are not compatible (see below).

10. Minor Aesthetics

Some machining and finishes have been improved, less sharp edges, and an overall higher-end look and feel.

11. Probe Accessibility

A new cutout in the stock has been added behind the magazine to allow for easy access to the probe for replacement/upgrades.

How will the changes affect your favorite M3 aftermarket accessories?

Compatible:

  • checked Bottom Rails - M3 bottom rails should work on the new M4
  • checked Barrel Kits - The M4 has had no compatibility changes to the barrels

Not Compatible:

  • unchecked Top Rails - M3 compatible top rails will NOT work on the M4 without modification. This also means the older style rails and older Air Marksman Backbone rail is NOT compatible on the new M4 due to the spine and front barrel support block.
  • unchecked Tensioning Kits - With the redesigned front barrel block, M3 tensioners will not work

Well, Is your M3 obsolete?

If you’ve made it this far, then you already know the answer is no. On a performance level, the M4 is expected to behave similarly to the M3. Internally the gun has not been changed. As shooters put some stats on the board with this new model, it's expected the spec’s will be very close to the M3 with slight improvements on ergonomics and performance.

Why buy the M4?

Did you get the latest iphone or Andriod? Of course you did. This gun will be most demanded for by competition shooters, commercial owners/ professionals, anyone with a critical eye for detail and hunger for perfection.
